Background:
To further Cybersecurity expertise within Minnesota and help our members and community develop professionally, Twin Cities Minnesota ISC2 , the Minnesota chapter of ISSA, and and the State of Minnesota are pleased to sponsor a CISSP Study Group.  The CISSP is one of the most recognized certifications in the security industry, generally showing “you have all it takes to design, engineer, implement and run an information security program” (ISC2) While this group is aimed at preparing security professionals to take the CISSP exam, it has proven valuable for anyone interested in reviewing their knowledge of a broad swath of security disciplines.  Several members of the study group offered last year received their CISSP certification and have attributed their success to their participation here.

Approach:
The study sessions review the material defined by the  CISSP Common Body of Knowledge.  We review this material over 15 weeks, meeting every Tuesday from 6:30-9 at the Centennial Office Building in St. Paul, beginning January 30, 2018.  Presenters with substantial experience present domain content, augmenting with their wisdom, insight, and context.  Every three weeks, the group reviews the recently-presented materials to cement their knowledge.  Due to space limitations, the study group will be limited to the first 30 who sign up and pay the fee ($200).  In addition to the presentations, we provide each participant with a copy of the ISC2 CISSP Study Guide and Practice Test.  Snacks and refreshments are also available at each session for participants and volunteers.

Limitations and disclaimer:
None of the sponsors; the Twin Cities Minnesota ISC2 Chapter and the Minnesota Chapter of ISSA, study group presenters, nor the State of Minnesota, guarantees any study group member success in passing the CISSP exam.  Participation in this group can be an effective tool in preparing for the exam, but is intended to complement individual study, not as a substitute.
